Our Team

Our team consists of over 80 years of combined wealth management experience. In addition to our common experiences, we complement one another with a broad swath of skills and experiences, everything from teaching MBA students at Harvard Business School to helping grow a local investment management firm to well over $1 billion in assets. Our team holds advanced formal degrees (Masters and PhD) and many professional credentials (CFP®s, ChFCs, and CLUs). We have attempted to form a team that is well prepared to steward our clients’ wealth and well-being.

Dylan B. Minor, PhD, MS, CFP®, ChFC, CLU

Dylan

Dylan was introduced to the financial services industry in 1990 through his father. Since then Dylan has been helping individual, corporate, and non-profit clients with their wealth management needs. He is professionally trained in retirement planning, estate investment planning, investment consulting, and non-profit investment consulting. Dylan earned the designations of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner (CFP®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) from The American College.  Additionally, Dr. Minor held the Certified Investment Management Analyst® certification, administered by Investment Management Consultants Association® and taught in conjunction with The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania from 2006 through 2016..

Dylan graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Santa Barbara earning a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Economics with a minor in English. He also earned a Master of Science in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. Finally, he was awarded a PhD from UC Berkeley.

As Chief Strategist and CIO at Omega, Dylan has the role of overseeing the management of client assets and financial strategies. He works closely with Omega’s advisors to help create client financial strategies based on clients’ own unique needs and goals.

As an applied economist, Dylan works at staying on the cutting edge of modern wealth and financial management. The result of his work is a proprietary approach Omega uses dubbed Optimized Wealth Integration®. In short, it is a process of linking strategies across one’s financial needs to have some positive outcomes in both good and bad times. His work is also published in various academic journals and presented at industry and academic conferences. Dylan has held professorships at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago and the Harvard School of Business in Boston. He currently is faculty at the Anderson School of Management (UCLA).

His research has been featured in a variety of media, including: ABC, Academic minute, CBS, Chicago Tribune, CNBC, Financial Times, Forbes, Fortune, Harvard Business Review, Harvard Business School Working Knowledge, Harvard Gazette, Human Resource Executive, INC.com, NPR (All Things Considered), Quartz, USA Today, Wired, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post.  The Social Science Research Network (SSRN) ranks his research’s impact in the top 1% of scholars.

Dylan conducts a variety of financial workshops and lectures, including continuing professional education for attorneys and accountants. He also provides numerous private client workshops annually. Finally, Dylan presents a variety of custom-tailored workshops to various organizations.

Dylan, his wife Caroline, daughter Julia, and black Labrador Zorro first made their way to Santa Barbara in 1995. Dylan and Caroline can be found doing anything from tennis to tea, to enjoying theatre and art.

Bryan W. Reinhard CFP®, ChFC, CLU

BryanBryan received his bachelor’s degree from Westmont College in 1988 and his master’s degree from St. John’s College in 1992.  After graduation Bryan worked in operations for Bank of America.  From 1994 to 1998 he taught social, political and economic history in Seattle, Washington and Santa Fe, New Mexico.

In 1999 he began his career in financial services, working with private clients at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, successfully completing their comprehensive training program at the World Trade Center in New York City and their coursework in retirement planning.  In 2003, he joined Dylan Minor’s wealth management team at Wachovia Securities, LLC, a predecessor firm of Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC.  And finally, in 2010, he founded The Omega Financial Group together with Dylan Minor.

While working with individuals, corporations and non-profit clients with their wealth management needs, Bryan earned the designations and certifications of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) from The American College.

As Omega became independently registered as an RIA in 2012, Bryan continues his work with private clients as Senior Investment Advisor and the Director of the office.  Bryan seeks to provide unsurpassed investment planning services to the clients of the team.

Bryan enjoys reading philosophy and literature, visiting museums, and traveling to explore the cultures and richness of diverse civilizations.

Paul C. Kuhn

Senior Wealth Advisor

Paul

Paul Kuhn joined Omega Financial Group in 2013.  Prior to joining Omega, he was a Managing Director at Santa Barbara Asset Management from 1996 to 2013.  During this time, Santa Barbara Asset Management grew from 7.5 million dollars under management to 5.5 billion dollars of assets under management.  In addition to being a part of the company’s growth, he was a partner and owner of SBAM prior to the company’s sale to Nuveen Investments in 2005.  Paul had multiple roles at SBAM, including managing private client, managed account and mutual fund relationships.  Prior to SBAM, Paul owned and operated both a retail/wholesale business and a commercial fishing business.  He attended Pepperdine University and University of California, Santa Barbara, where he studied Business Economics.

Paul is a Santa Barbara native and lives here with his wife Ginny.  They have two sons, Mitchell and Jacob.  Paul sits on the boards of the Santa Barbara County Bowl Investment Committee and The Friendship Paddle.

Spare time finds him engaging in surfing, tennis, paddling, free-diving and other outdoor/ocean related activities.

Robert A. Schultz, CFP®, ChFC, CRPC®

Rob

Rob is dedicated to helping his clients succeed in their financial goals and aspirations.  He has a strong work ethic that focuses on a high level of service while delivering exceptional value in meeting client’s holistic financial needs.  To meet these ends, Rob also interfaces with his clients’ tax advisors and attorneys to enhance communication and implementation of each individual comprehensive financial plan.

Rob earned his Bachelor of Science degree from San Jose State University in 1994. In 2010 he joined the Omega Financial Group. Rob enjoys his role with Omega as he works with pre and post retiree clients, foundations and other non-profit entities. He also manages and oversees some of Omega’s proprietary investment strategies, including Protected Value™ and Direct Total Return®.

Rob has completed the rigorous education and examination process through the American College to earn the title of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®). Additionally, he has completed the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor program through the College for Financial Planning and received the designation of Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM (CRPC®).

In order to be prepared to clarify and help establish successful estate plans for his clients, Rob also is educated in insurance solutions and holds his California State Insurance License (#0G68179).

Rob and his wife, Dena, have resided in Santa Barbara since 1998. They stay active with their three young boys and can be found enjoying time at the beach, running, and playing tennis. They also enjoy their time coaching youth sports.

Naomi Williams

Operations Manager and Lead Client Service Associate

Naomi is a Los Angeles native who came to Santa Barbara to attend the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. While completing the coursework at the university, she joined the financial services industry in an effort to further develop her business savvy and client service acumen.

She began her career as an Operations Specialist with Wachovia Securities, and in time, evolved into the position of Client Associate with Wells Fargo Advisors where she could better employ her outstanding communication and service aptitude.  By acting as a liaison for advisors and clients Naomi acquired a broad spectrum of proficiencies that make her a valuable asset to the Omega team.

In her free time, Naomi enjoys being with her family, being active and enjoying the sites and activities that Santa Barbara has to offer.

Jessica Womack

Executive Assistant to Dylan Minor, PhD

Jessica was born and raised in the California Central Valley and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a B.A. in English Literature. She has lived in the East Bay, the North Bay and now she has made her way to Santa Barbara to experience the best that the Central Coast has to offer.

Her most recent experiences include serving as executive administrator at a pediatric dental office and at an artisan olive oil company. With her penchant for organization and her years of experience in customer service, Jessica works hard to ensure that our office runs smoothly and that each and every one of our clients has the top-notch experience that defines Omega Financial.

In her free time, Jessica enjoys reading and writing (of course!), hiking, roller skating and cross-stitching.
